The Education Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, leisure centers, high school, adult education, and student health. Here, about 1100 employees work together to create a safe and developing school and childcare.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The mission of the Student Health Services is to promote the social, psychological, and physical health of all children and students as well as their development and learning towards the educational goals and knowledge requirements. As a school psychologist in Ystad municipality, you are employed in the central Student Health Services and assist the municipality's preschools and schools with a broad competence and an interdisciplinary perspective. You will be part of a group with several other licensed psychologists.

As a psychologist, your task is to provide preschool, primary school, and high school with psychological competence. Collaboration with student health and the principal, becoming known and collaborating with students, staff, and guardians is overarching and characterizes psychologists' work both generally and in individually focused work. We work based on science and proven experience, the National Agency for Education's national guidelines for staff within student health, the curriculum, the Education Act, and the Health and Medical Services Act. Our mission consists of a) General and/or school development work that is health-promoting and preventive and b) individually focused work that falls under the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL 2017:30). In preschool, the psychologist does not have tasks that fall under HSL. You will have a guiding, advisory, and consulting role at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The work is varied and places high demands on independently planning and organizing your work.

As a school psychologist, your tasks include:

  • Participation in the preschools'/schools' student health teams where you contribute with psychological competence
  • Investigations and assessments regarding individual students' needs for support in school as well as investigations regarding questions of intellectual disabilities
  • Supervision and consultation for staff
  • Continuing education initiatives
  • Collaboration internally and externally
  • Participation in internal development work

QUALIFICATIONS

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for someone who:

  • is a licensed psychologist or alternatively a PTP psychologist
  • has previous experience working as a school psychologist within Student Health Services
  • has experience in psychometric testing
  • has a B driver's license and preferably a personal car
  • has a good ability to plan and organize your work independently and to build relationships for collaboration with both children and adults.
  • communicates and contributes to development work and problem-solving in a constructive manner
  • has training in one of our child and parent group activities (YAM, Cope, Skilda Världar, BIFF)
